The problem needing to be solved

Jasiri Australia has been running as an incorporated organisation since 2018. However, we need strong governance documents to provide our organisation with the structure to grow and expand our impact. We have some basic documents, but because we lack experience in legal experience, having someone to support our organisation and get all the documents in order will be vital to working with young people and survivors of violence.

Responsibilities of the online volunteering project

  • Review organisations compliance with Access Canberra;
  • Develop the Articles of Incorporation bylaws pack: board documents, code of ethics and conduct, confidentiality policy, conflict of interest policy, communications and media policy, grievances policy, records management, partnerships documents.
  • Layout the pay it forward financial structure;
  • Overview and edit (if need be) child protection and working with vulnerable people policy (policies being developed in another project);
  • Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation strategy;
  • Ensure documents comply with the ACNC.

The benefit to you, the volunteer

You’ll gain invaluable experience supporting the sustainability of a non-government organisation. You'll also get our undying support and eternal gratitude! Beyond helping us take the next step to empowering young women across Australia, you will:

  • Receive public recognition and thanks on our social media channels.
  • Receive a written reference.
  • Receive a LinkedIn endorsement.
  • Establish an ongoing relationship with Jasiri Australia, for future potential projects.

Tools required
