The problem needing to be solved

MotoAid provides training to people who are providing health and community services in Timor Leste. We work with organisations who use motorbikes because in Timor the majority of the people live in remote villages in the mountains where there are no roads. We applied for DGR but weren't successful. The ACNC have suggested we apply again but better describe our work so it meets there criteria. With DGR we will hope to be able to secure larger funding and grants so can better plan for long term projects.

Responsibilities of the online volunteering project

  • Review previous application
  • Explore DGR criteria
  • Find criteria that MotoAid meet to gain DGR status
  • Gain DGR
  • Have accounting and banking system that meet DGR guidelines

The benefit to you, the volunteer

Many people and organisations have funding they are happpy to give to charities if they recieive a tax deduction for their gift. Especially larger organisations. We currently depend on small fundraising acitivities to fund each step in our work. We need secure funding to enable us to put into place the long term projects that will ensure the peopel we work with have access to transport.
