This Project's Impact

There is a serious need for a kitchen at our school. We are helping the poorest of the poor in this small town of Mto wa Mbu. The idea is to help some of the next generation in some of the families to get out of poverty. If we can build a kitchen we will help a lot of families to feed some of their children even once or twice a day.

The problem needing to be solved

The Bandari Project has recently completed a school in Mto wa Mbu,Tanzania. With 60 students and the school growing fast, we need a good kitchen to provide meals for the children.

We would like the help to fundraise $15,000 to build a kitchen that we currently don't have. The cooking is currently done in a tiny shed with firewood.

Responsibilities of the online volunteering project

-Develop afundraising plan and recommend the best way to go forward with it so it would be appealing to the public.

- design a fundraising strategy that is cost effective and ensure a good outcome.

-We are very localy based ( South West Victoria), we would like to reach out further or broader community.

- We have got a DGR status, we would like to get help with ways to capitalise on that as it gurantee donors money back.

- To find a way to reach out to cooperate sponsor.

The benefit to you, the volunteer

The Bandari Project is aiming to break the circle of poverty through education. The school has 7 classrooms with 60 primary school students. The school is likely to have over 200 students in the next 4 years.

We can't not properly help the children with the kitchen facilities we have got at the moment if the numbers keep increasing.

The new kitchen will help the women who currently are working to have a safe working place. The constant use of firewood is not safe for their health.

This project can save money by using better and cost effective equipments for cooking.

The new kitchen can help to provide a healthy meal for the children. For most of the children this is their only meal because they come from the poorest of the families in the village.

The new Kitchen will be environmentally friendly because we will stop using firewood and invest on biogas and natural gas.

100% of the money raised goes to The Bandari Project because we commit to giving it all to the community in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania.
