Key project info

The problem needing to be solved

SMART Recovery International is in the process of developing our International Research Network (IRN). Network members will be researchers working in the addiction and mental health sectors. The aim of the network is to increase the body of evidence available on the efficacy of the SMART Recovery program. We will be processing memberships on our website and will require applicants to acknowlege the terms and conditions of membership. We need legal advice on how to word these terms and conditions. Network members will need to abide by the overall aims and objectives and that they do not work for any alcohol, nicotine or other companies associated with substance abuse and drugs of addiction. We will need to have the wording framed in such a way that membership can be revoked immediately if people breach the conditions of membership.

Because we have an international reach we need to make sure we cover off on this from a legal perspective - which is where we need your help!

Responsibilities of the online volunteering project

Develop a 'terms and conditions' of membership to the SMART Recovery International Research Advisory Network.

The benefit to you, the volunteer

You will be fundamental to the establishment of our IRN which will greatly assist our ability to build our body of evidence of the efficacy of the SMART program. We need this evidence to effectively communicate with governments and other stakeholders around the globe to facilitate the integration of the SMART program into front line recovery services and communities. Helping us with this project means you will be part of growing the SMART program across the globe.
